Two of my homebirths were with Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery. My experience each time was beautiful and what I wanted. My midwife, Anika Johnson was very calm, patient, assuring, supportive, and kind. All important while in labor. If I panicked she assured me I'd be fine. Everything I communicated I'd want during labor she facilitated. Her energy and skills are unmatched.

Anika has a warm and encouraging energy. She's just whom you'd want by your side at such a vulnerable time as pregnancy and birth. She has a special way of calming your anxiety even when you may not have realized you were anxious. I expressed that I wanted a natural birth with as little inervention as possible and she suggested I take a hypnobirthing course. This suggestion lead me on a journey that ignited my passion for empowering woman through education about pregnancy and birth.

I had two babies with Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery. Anika always put the ball in my court and she was supportive of what I wanted to do as long as it was safe for me and the baby. During labor there were times that I felt physically weak. Anika reminded me of my strength. There were times that she sensed a dip in my morale and she remined me of my faith. I'm so grateful to have had her as a midwife and she is the first name I recommend when I find out that someone is pregnant.
